Sunday Street Lunch 2011

The first record of caring for our city’s people dates back to the 1929 global depression. This ministry in its current form was started in May 1975 when 11 destitute people on the streets of Cape Town were given much needed food. The number of people has grown and congregation members have also moved from serving food on the streets to serving a hot cooked meal to approximately 250 people at The Service Dining Room on Canterbury Street each Sunday.
